Driver HGV CAT C (Class 2)

Clarkes of Walsham is one of the largest independently owned Timber, Builders Merchants and Country Store in East Anglia. We have been established as a family business since 1908.

Job Description

We are currently seeking an LGV/HGV/CAT2 Driver to join our team. The role involves driving an 18-tonne flatbed HGV with crane conducting multi-drop deliveries throughout East Anglia. There is no overnight work but overtime available when necessary. Flexibility is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure vehicle safety checks are completely accurate
  • Comply with Road Traffic and Transport Legislation and Working Time Regulations
  • Responsibility to complete security of load and safety checks

Skills and Experience

  • Digital card essential
  • CPC qualified
  • Current Valid CAT C (class 2) license
  • Hiab Crane certificate preferred but not essential as training will be provided.

Full-Time E-Commerce Assistant

Job Description

We are currently seeking an E-Commerce Assistant, who ideally will have previous knowledge of producing web content for retail e-commerce platforms including knowledge of eBay and Amazon marketplaces.

Responsibilities:

  • Using our eBay Store to increase sales
  • Process eBay & website customer orders
  • Provide customer support via Zendesk chat application
  • Create product listings on eBay and Magento platforms
  • Assisting with the Online Marketing Department with general administrative tasks,
  • Social Media campaigns and creating point of sale merchandise for instore use.
                      

Skills and Experience:

  • Excellent spelling and grammar
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Natural creative flair
  • Experience with eBay and Magento Platforms
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud programs
    (Photoshop & Illustrator essential)

Full-Time Carpenter/Joiner

Job Description

We are currently seeking a Carpenter Joiner to join our team. The role involves making gates, windows and general joinery items.  There is no overnight work but overtime available when necessary. Flexibility is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to safe working practices at all times.
  • Determine material requirements and dimensions
  • To observe all Health and Safety and Work regulations and report any hazards to the line manager.

 

Skills and Experience

  • Must have experience as a time-served joiner, or be trained with an NVQ level 2 in bench-joinery / carpentry and joinery.
  • Experience of hand-tool use as well as woodworking machinery.
  • Capable of working from drawings and producing material to a high standard.
  • An excellent eye for detail

Sawmill Labourer/Wood Machinist

Clarkes of Walsham is one of the largest independently owned Timber, Builders Merchants and Country Store in East Anglia. We have been established as a family business since 1908.

Job Description

Working as part of a team within our Sawmill department you will be constructing and processing customer orders. Orders may include items such as floorboards, skirting boards, architraves, mouldings and bespoke timber-based items. From time to time you will also be required to assist directly with customers on any technical / general enquiries.
Although we would prefer experience with woodworking machinery, training will be provided on the wide range of tools and machinery that will be used to carry out the sawmills daily tasks.

Skills and Experience

  • Enjoy practical and manual work
  • Able to use hand tools and woodworking machinery (training will be provided)
  • Ability to understand diagrams and drawings with written instructions
  • Good maths and English skills
  • Forklift experience (training provided)
  • Counterbalance & Sideloader preferable (training will be provided)
  • Health and safety awareness

Yard Forklift Loader / Assistant

Job Description

Working efficiently as part of a team you will be required to load and offload company HGV vehicles with goods for delivery, using forklift trucks.
High level of Health and Safety ensuring safe working practices will be required at all times.

Skills and Experience

  • Effective communication skills, verbal, reading and writing
  • Health and safety awareness
  • Can work under pressure
  • Work on own initiative and as part of a team
  • Forklift experience preferred(training will be provided)
